Malwarebytes Labs just released their Cybercrime Tactics and Techniques Q1 2019 report which shows that the focus of cyber criminals has shifted from consumers to corporate targets. And while this data suggests that consumers are no longer being directly targeted, they are still at risk from having their data lifted from the businesses with whom they interact.
Highlights from the report include:
- Detections of Trojans increased over 200 percent since the previous quarter and almost 650 percent from the same time last year.
- Ransomware detections among businesses have increased 195 percent since last quarter and over 500 percent from the same time last year.
- Mobile and Mac devices are increasingly targeted by adware. Mac malware increased over 60 percent and adware increased over 200 percent from the previous quarter.
